Our Valentines meeting is strictly a love affair for both the music and comedy of classic films. This month we pay tribute to the inspired contributions of the inimitable T. Marvin Hatley who provided the immortal Theme Song for which the Boys are know the world over. Marvin Hatley's family will be in attendance for some old chestnuts and few little acorns that many of us had never seen before.
All presentations screened from 16mm film prints!

In a Holiday mood? HOLLYWOOD PARTY ladles out a healthy serving of Yuletide cheer from the Hal Roach Studios
punch bowl. All presentations screened from 16mm film prints.
Our evening's selections included:
"TWO TARS" (1928)
On leave from the Navy, the Boys try to enjoy their furlough but with typical disastrous results.
One of THE quintessential Laurel & Hardy silents — also one of the best of that bygone era.
"DO DETECTIVES THINK" (1927)
Sleuths Stan and Ollie are on the case as Judge James Finlayson has been threatened by the man he convicted.
This film is the first in which the Boys appear with their trademark derby hats.
"BARNUM & RINGLING, INC.'" (1929)
One of the last Our Gang silents, the kids decide to enter their pets in a hotel contest. This film will be
accompanied with the original Vitaphone score that audiences heard at the time of its release to first run
houses that were equipped to show films with the early synchronized audio.
"CALL OF THE CUCKOO'" (1927)
An all star Hal Roach comedy starring Max Davidson and featuring Charley Chase, Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy.
One of the funniest comedies to come out of the "Lot of Fun".
"SUGAR DADDIES'" (1927)
An early Laurel & Hardy film that doesn't yet feature them as the team we know and love. James Finlayson is Cyrus
Brittle, with Stan as his lawyer and Ollie as his butler — both trying to help Fin out of a marital jam.
PLUS A RARE CARTOON GEM FROM THE SILENT ERA!

he Pub, and everybody's favorite teacher Mrs. Crabtree (June Marlowe).
* [A few minutes were edited out of the Little Rascals television package back in 1971 owing to derogatory African
American references and a few other scenes were deemed to simply be in bad taste. Please note those scenes remain
in this UNCUT version.]
"BEAU HUNKS" (1931)
Stan Laurel proclaimed this to be his favorite Laurel & Hardy short.
The Boys join the Foreign Legion to help Babe forget his love (revealed in a photograph as Jean Harlow). Harlow, in
appreciation to her former boss, permitted Roach to utilize her photo here at no charge in this four-reel featurette.
Into the evening's mix was a classic cartoon short. "TRICK OR TREAT, KIDS!"
